Recently, a delegation from the School of Energy and Power Engineering at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST)—led by Zhao Ming, a member of the university’s Party Committee Standing Committee and Chief Accountant—visited Qingdao Jingrui Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. The company’s Chairman, Wang Wei, and General Manager, Zhang Wenli, accompanied the delegation on a tour of the production facilities and participated in a discussion. During the meeting, both sides engaged in in-depth exchanges regarding the joint development of a "micro-major" (specialized short-term academic program) in the field of valves, as well as the deepening of comprehensive university-enterprise cooperation.

On-site Visit: Witnessing Capabilities in Intelligent Manufacturing
Accompanied by Wang Wei and Zhang Wenli, the university leadership team toured the company’s production workshops, R&D center, and testing laboratories. They gained an in-depth understanding of ESG Precision Valves’ product R&D system, precision manufacturing processes, end-to-end quality control standards, and global market footprint. The delegation highly commended the company for its extensive technical expertise—cultivated over more than two decades of deep engagement in the fluid control sector—and for its achievements in high-quality development.
Deep Affection for Alma Mater: Giving Back to Support Education
Wang Wei and Zhang Wenli, both 1986 graduates of the Turbomachinery program at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST), have dedicated their careers to the manufacturing sector. Under their leadership, Qingdao Jingrui has grown into a national-level "Little Giant" enterprise—a designation for specialized, refined, unique, and innovative firms. Throughout the years, the two have remained deeply committed to the development of their alma mater. Previously, their company donated 150,000 RMB to establish the "Jingrui Scholarship," specifically designed to reward outstanding students who excel both academically and in character, thereby providing tangible support for the university’s talent cultivation efforts.
Collaboratively Developing Micro-specializations to Drive Industrial Upgrading
During the discussion, Zhao Ming commended the two alumni for their commitment to the real economy and their dedication to giving back to their alma mater. He also highlighted the achievements of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) in recent years regarding academic discipline development and talent cultivation. Liu Baolin, Dean of the School of Energy and Power Engineering, provided a detailed overview of the development plan for a micro-specialization program focused on the valve industry. The participants engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as the joint development of curricula, the establishment of internship and practical training bases, the commercialization of research findings, and graduate employment.
Chairman Wang Wei stated that the high-end valve industry is currently at a critical stage of domestic substitution, with an increasingly urgent demand for specialized technical talent. ESG Precision Valves is committed to playing an active role in the development of "micro-specialization" (niche-focused) academic programs. By integrating industry-standard technical requirements and practical engineering experience into the curriculum, the company aims to bridge the gap between talent cultivation and industry needs. This initiative will supply the sector with high-quality, application-oriented professionals, collectively contributing to the independent, controllable development of high-end valve equipment.

This exchange has laid a solid foundation for deepening school-enterprise collaboration. Moving forward, ESG Precision Valves will establish a regular communication mechanism with the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) to accelerate the implementation and success of a specialized "micro-major" program focused on valve technology. Furthermore, the two parties will expand their cooperation into areas such as joint technical research and the commercialization of research outcomes—leveraging the integration of industry and education to drive high-quality industrial development and fulfill the company’s mission: "Crafting superior valves for the world."
